Tripping, Slipping and Falling
The Council has a duty to maintain the roads and pavements. Unfortunately, they don't always meet that duty and we at Edenfield have successfully acted for many clients who have been injured as a result of accidents caused by broken and uneven pavements, potholes or other defects in the highway.
Mrs R a lady from Yorkshire tripped and fell on some broken paving stones near her home. Although she was badly shaken, fortunately she was not too seriously hurt. We obtained £3000 on her behalf from the local council.
The Occupiers of supermarkets, shops and other public buildings have a duty to take care for the safety of visitors. We have acted for lots of clients who suffered injuries as a result of slips and falls in supermarkets and shops.
Mrs S fell on an a wet floor in a supermarket suffered injuries to her leg. She found our details on the internet and working on her behalf we were able to claim more than £6,000 in compensation for her injuries. In this particular case, nearly all of the communication between our client and ourselves was conducted by e-mail.
