Accidents at work

Your employer has a legal duty to take care for your safety. We have successfully represented hundreds of clients who have been injured as a result of accidents at work.

Because of recent changes in the system for compensation claims, we can now often settle even the most difficult workplace claims without the need for court proceedings. Even so, research shows that most people who are injured at work fail to seek good advice about claiming compensation. Make sure you don't make the same mistake yourself! If you've had an accident at work, give us a call. It won't cost anything to find out whether you may be entitled to claim compensation.

"They told me I didn't have a claim"

Many of our clients were previously advised by other, maybe less specialised solicitors or 'claims services' that they did not have a good case. Yet we have been able to make successful claims on their behalf. So you can see it's always worth making an enquiry with us. We will give you an expert initial assessment free of charge and, if the case goes ahead we will be happy to work on a 'No Win No Fee' basis.

The law

Your employers have a legal responsibility to take care for your safety. Our lawyers have extensive knowledge of the health and safety regulations. We often use that knowledge to help clients win their cases after other lawyers have given up!

The regulations impose very strict obligations on employers to:-

  • Provide you with a copy of a detailed written assessment of all risks which you may face in the workplace.

  • Provide you with a safe place to work. This includes things such as:-

    • Safe floor areas to reduce the risk of trips and falls.

    • Good lighting.

    • A suitable workbench or workstation.

    • Safety rails or other precautions, where there is any risk of falling from a height.

  • Provide you with appropriate and safe equipment.

  • Provide you with a safe system for doing your work.

  • Avoid the need for you to lift heavy or awkward weights.

  • Provide suitable training for the use of any equipment.

  • Provide suitable protective equipment wherever necessary.

  • Prevent you from being exposed to dangerous chemicals or other dangerous substances.

Take special care for young workers, pregnant workers or any other workers who have any kind of special needs.

Mr R hurt his back whist at work whilst lifting a heavy item. The accident
was never recorded in the employer's accident book. We were still able to
win the case and claimed £7,500.00 for our client.

Mr A was hit at the back of the head by a box which fell off the forklift truck. We managed to get Mr A £8750.00 in compensation for his injuries and his loss of earnings.
